Birkenhead Market is one of the Wirral’s oldest retail destinations and a busy public-facing site in the heart of Birkenhead. Wirral Borough Council appointed Oculus Group to provide flexible, reliable security support across three areas of the market’s operation, complementing the council’s own employed on-site team.
A public market carries a particular set of security demands. High daily footfall, multiple independent traders, and stock left on site overnight mean the building has to be secured to a consistent standard every single day. The council needed a security partner it could trust to step in seamlessly when its own staff were unavailable, to follow a dependable daily routine, and to represent the market professionally to traders and the public.
