Primary School Post Builder Clean

Case Study

Post-Works Deep Clean - Primary School, February Half Term

Following the replacement of the school’s heating system during the February half term, Oculus Group were asked to quote for a deep clean of the premises ahead of pupils and staff returning. With contractors still on site completing the installation works, the timeline was tight – and the margin for error was zero.

The Challenge

When we attended mid-week to assess the site, works were still actively ongoing with a contractor completion date of Sunday, leaving just one clear day before the school reopened on Monday morning. Attending earlier in the week would have been premature, with dust, debris, and contractor activity still present throughout the building.

Rather than begin work piecemeal around an active site, we made the honest call: advise the client that the most effective approach was to wait, then deploy a larger team across the final weekend to deliver a thorough, high-quality deep clean in a compressed window.

The Solution

We mobilised a team of 8 experienced cleaners across Saturday and Sunday, starting at 7am each day to maximise the available hours and work within the site’s access requirements. The team carried out a full deep clean of the premises following the heating works – tackling dust, debris, and residue left by the installation across all areas of the school.

All work was completed on time and to a high standard, with the school ready to receive pupils and staff on Monday morning.

The Outcome

The school reopened on schedule without issue. Impressed with both the standard of the clean and the straightforward, practical advice given throughout, the client subsequently invited Oculus Group to quote for a further deep clean during the summer closure period.
